Law N° 059/2023 of 04/12/2023 amends Law N° 66/2018 of 30/08/2018 determining Offenses and Penalties in General. This amendment introduces heavy punishments for various forms of violence, including sexual violence against a spouse (Article 137). It also makes child defilement imprescriptible (Article 15, paragraph 7).
